Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, rabbit from the hat...all the usual metaphors relating to illusions are applicable in the case of tonight's speech by the President. Style without substance, many words spoken yet nothing said...tonight we are going to hear a lot of words, undoubtedly flowery and flowing rhetoric accompanied by many tingles up mainstream journalists' legs.There will be hours upon hours of careful dissection and parsing of his words by the mainstream media, and fact-checking by both liberal and conservative think-tanks will undoubtedly disagree. What they will all miss among the lofty oratory is the narcissistic "I saved the economy, now let me save the future" undertone that accompanies this man's every word and action.
