Losing Freedom

Sometimes it is as blatant as ratcheting click-click-click of handcuffs painfully pinning your hands behind your back…the echoing, metallic clang of a jail cell door slamming shut behind you…or your President signing into law a National Defense Authorization Act with murky language giving Government unprecedented power to arrest and detain American citizens on American soil without due process.
More often, though, it is something as innocent-looking and innocuous as a car’s seat belts or a bicycle helmet…a NO RIGHT TURN ON RED sign…or your President signing into law something as noble-sounding as the Patient Affordable Care Act.
There are all kinds of analogies for it…camel’s nose under the tent flap and frog-in-the-pot-syndrome are two that immediately come to mind. It is the insidious slow and creeping erosion of liberty that isn’t noticeable on a minute-by-minute basis, but when you look at the BEFORE and AFTER pictures it becomes readily apparent...“HOW THE HELL DID WE MISS THAT?”
A lawyer and politician himself, Daniel Webster (1782-1852) warned us long ago that “…our destruction, should it come at all, will be from…the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing.”
Warnings like this are prevalent throughout the writings of the wisest of men throughout time. Webster recognized that in governance, “good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority…[the] strong conviction that something must be done is the parent of many bad measures.” Webster also stated that “[it] is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions.” Good intentions are the lifeblood of the liberal mindset, highlighted by the illogical fallacy that what benefits one, by extension, must benefit all.
The problem lies in the power paradigm…local, state and national governments don’t EARN the money that they spend. Rather, it is TAKEN from the citizens that they are supposed to serve. The old adage of absolute power corrupting absolutely begins to take form.
Another of Webster’s observations points out that “[there] are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.” The combination of this “do-gooder” mentality coupled with the power to take what it needs from the populace is a dangerous mixture.
George Washington knew from experience that “government is like fire, a dangerous servant and a fearful master.” Once government gets involved in any affairs, however peripherally, it NEVER leaves and only involves itself further.

The Format Of Legislation...

I have been doing a lot of digging lately on www.thomas.gov, researching existing and proposed legislation. In both houses of Congress, we seem to have an abundance of arrogant "nanny-statists" who honestly believe that WE THE PEOPLE are incapable of living our lives without their guidance and wisdom. Things as simple as using a television remote control (The CALM Act, Public Law #111-311), choosing suitable illumination within one's own home (Energy Independence and Security Act, PL #110-140), or using our own toilets (Energy Policy Act, PL #102-486).

Every piece of legislation that I have researched has a summary, or outline that generally follows the following format:
(a) To provide for xxxxxxx (we've found another way to screw the taxpayer),
(b) To establish guidelines for xxxxxxx (here's how we're going to screw the taxpayer),
(c) AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES (here's how we bribe the opponents and benefit ourselves while screwing the taxpayer).

Take for example, a bill from former Presidential candidate and Arizona Senator John McCain called S. 3081, called "The Enemy Belligerent Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act". Sounds good so far, right? The summary of the legislation reads: “To provide for the interrogation and detention of enemy belligerents who commit hostile acts against the United States, to establish certain limitations on the prosecution of such belligerents for such acts, and for other purposes.”

I mean, who WOULDN'T want enemy belligerents interrogated, detained and prosecuted, right? Well, consider that several leading Democrats have called Republicans in general, and TEA Party advocates specifically, "terrorists" and "hostage takers". So, THEY get to define the "enemy", they get to define what "acts" meet their criteria...and oh, here comes the best part...this legislation applies WITHIN our own borders...or inside your own home.

Of course, it's likely that the FOR OTHER PURPOSES section will carve out exemptions for illegal immigrants, mayors of sanctuary cities, governors who allow mayors to establish these illegal immigrant "safe zones" within their states, Muslims, gays and transgenders, and for family members of our Congressmen.

Compromise vs Concession

12 of our elected Representatives failed where the remaining 523...failed. Both sides of the poorly-nicknamed "Super-Committee" blame each other for the gridlock, with one side refusing to consider hiking taxes (a stance which President Obama supported) and the other side refusing to cut spending (a stance which President Obama supported).

Both sides said they "compromised", but that can't be so, because "compromise" is an outcome, a result of two parties agreeing to offered concessions.

Ayn Rand said it best--(paraphrasing) "In any compromise between good and evil, only evil can benefit." There comes a point in time when the gridlock between the legislative bodies and the executive branch is a good thing...after all, every piece of "legislation" enacted into law, by definition, is a restriction on the citizenry. I'm not sure about you, but I am sick and tired of conceding America's future to a wealthy group of people who only care about their re-election.

The Media Assassination of Herman Cain

There are 2 top-tier Republican candidates that Barack Obama can not face at any cost...one of them is Herman Cain. In the arena of "politics via division" practiced so adeptly by the President, he would not survive mano a mano against a REAL black American.

The rich-vs-poor argument doesn't serve his needs well enough, as there is no stark division between the two. He would have you believe that an individual making $200,000 a year is wealthy. In some parts of the country that may be true, but in the major cities where he needs the true strife to arise, this is middle-class level income.

The Republican/Democrat divide doesn't serve his needs well enough because of the rising number of Americans who choose to be independent of political affiliation because we realize that BOTH parties are to blame for our current state of affairs.

The Judeo-Christian/Secular-Progressive divide doesn't serve his needs because the overwhelming majority of Americans believe this to be a nation founded in the principles of Judeo-Christian morals and value system.

The Labor Union/Right To Work divide fails similarly because of the increasing numbers of small businesses and self-employed.

There are only 2 other divisions that Obama can utilize to his advantage, and they are both traits that we all carry with us from first breath to last--gender and race. If Michele Bachmann were running higher in the polls (and she may very well be in the future), she would be getting "Palin-ized" as well (and she may very well in the future).

Skin color is the last division that Obama can utilize for his ultimate desire, total power. Therefore, Herman Cain must be eliminated as a potential opponent in order to preserve this "nuclear option" of an all-out race war in order to achieve the goal of America's final fundamental transformation.

"What If Glenn's Right?"

If Glenn is right, and he has been spot-on thus far, then there are some extremely dark days ahead of us. The words of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Alinsky, Ayers, Cloward and Piven are all coming true RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.

Barack Obama has made it quite clear that he is a Socialist from the earliest days of his candidacy for President. His comment to Joe the Plumber about "spreading the wealth" being good for everyone (except those whose wealth you are taking)...his classic "You, know, at some point in time, you've made enough money"...or the keynote "I refuse to be part of a system that lets the well-off keep millions of extra income".

Barack Obama has shown open disdain for the capitalist system that has allowed his financial success, and outright loathing of the Constitution, seeing it as an impediment to accomplishing that which HE deems important. Now that he doesn't have majorities in both Houses of Congress to ram his legislative agenda down the throats of the American people, he is turning to Executive Orders to accomplish by dictatorial fiat what he can't accomplish through the process that our Founding Fathers put in place to rein in Executive power.

Barack Obama's past and current affiliations, the words from his own mouth, and his every action as President have convinced me that his goal is utter destruction of the American capitalist and system and Constitutional Republic.

COLLAPSE THE SYSTEM - The Cloward/Piven strategy

The "Occupy" crowds are nothing more than the pawns of the Progressives. Their primary functions are to (a) clog up the legal system and (b) provoke authorities into stiffer measures and sanctions. Former SEIU President Steven Lerner has clearly stated to the union workers, community organizers and students that "we are the heroes, who need to create a crisis." And, if "the power of persuasion doesn't work, then [we] are prepared to use the persuasion of power".

Van Jones, a self-avowed Communist and former adviser to President Obama, has described it as the "bottom-up, top-down, inside-out" process of revolutionary change. The bottom rises up (the "Occupiers"), the top comes down (martial law), and then the system is turned inside out (the peasants revolt).

Never mind that George Soros' numerous organizations are funding the "Occupiers", the thing to keep in mind is: Who is siding with the "Occupy" movement? President Obama, who has already given them "street cred", the mayors who are tolerating them, most Democrat lawmakers, and wealthy celebrities.

The TEA Party and the Occupy movement share a common frustration with the bond between Government and Big Business...the difference, however, is the course of action that each group desires. The TEA Party seeks to reform both, the Occupiers seek to destroy both. President Obama and most of the Democrat lawmakers have sided with the latter.

"What If Glenn's Right?"

George Soros is on the record as stating that "the main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States." So why would 11 of our more liberal elected officials be seeking out this man's advice?

If you apply the principle of Occam's Razor--that the explanation with the fewest assumptions is generally the correct one--then the evidence indicates those 11 agree with the belief that America *IS* the problem.

The evidence suggests that there are people at the highest levels of our government who see America as Soros does. What would it take to eliminate that MAIN OBSTACLE TO A STABLE AND JUST WORLD ORDER?

America's strength has always been the U.S. Constitution. Those "powers-that-be" that see America as the problem know the protection mechanisms that the Founding Fathers put throughout it. So they utilize the second principle of demolition, maximizing it's weakness...WE THE PEOPLE.

First, redefine history. Cast the Founding Fathers as a bunch of rich, greedy, old white slaveholders who raped a continent for their own benefit, and repeat, repeat, repeat until it becomes the accepted "truth". That way, every piece of wisdom that they tried to impart upon us becomes null and void.

Second, remove all references to God and the Bible from public discourse. The masses must be shielded from the discriminatory and selfish values of thrift, chastity, virtue and self-reliance. Therefore, our "rights" are given to us by our government and not some "fictitious" benevolent deity.

Third, treat capitalism as an evil "zero-sum" game...money is finite, therefore the wealth of the few must have been taken from the many. Therefore, the wealthy must be taxed at a higher rate so that it can be "redistributed" back to those who it was initially taken from.

Fourth, create so many obscure and hazily worded "circular reference" laws that no man knows from one day to the next that which is legal and that which is not. By criminalizing the natural and decriminalizing the unnatural, you create a society of sheep amongst a government of wolves.

Last, but not least, create a powder keg of subdivided, angry groups and toss in the match.

"What if Glenn's right?"

The easiest ways to demolish a physical structure, whether it be a building, a stadium or a bridge is to (a) remove it's strength, or (b) maximize it's weakness. The demolition of Philadelphia's Veterans Stadium was accomplished by the first method...explosives were placed at critical structural points throughout the facility and sequentially detonated so that the entire structure was unable support itself. NYC's Twin Towers, however, were destroyed by capitalizing on their weaknesses...the sheer height of the buildings, knowing that asbestos insulation was not applied to the steel structure of the upper floors due to an April 1970 ban, and the logistical difficulty associated with getting enough water, people and equipment to those heights in a crowded skyscraper full of panicked people.

The process is called REVERSE ENGINEERING--how to achieve a desired outcome within existing constraints. So how would those, so inclined, demolish a society? By using a combination of the techniques described above.

The easiest way to destroy a society is to wait. Left to their own, past empires/great societies have always collapsed, whether under the weight of their government or by outright revolt of the governed. Rarely is it a single event, but rather a standard progression over a period of decades, commonly called the Tytler cycle: The age of outburst (or pioneers), conquests, commerce, affluence, intellect, decadence, decline and collapse.

I'm sure the Athenians, the Persians, the Romans, the Ottomans, the Nazis and the Soviets have all said "It can't happen here." History, my friends, says otherwise...it CAN happen here. It IS happening here, right in front of our faces. How is it possible to continue repeating the mistakes of the past?

The Question No One Seems To Be Asking...

The Middle East is on fire...The Hong Kong Stock Market is now trading gold bullion in Chinese Yuan rather than US Dollars...Europe is collapsing financially..."Arab Spring"-style protests will spread...Now the US Government plans to SHUT DOWN broadcast TV and radio NATIONWIDE to "test" the Emergency Alert System on November 9...and the hits, errrr, HINTS just keep a-coming.

There is one person that comes to mind that has been saying that EVERY ONE of things was going to happen. Glenn Beck was always called a kook, nutcase, conspiracy theorist, lush, and every other name in the book. Never an acknowledgment from the so-called "educated elites" of the observations as they came to pass. None of them asked...

"What If Glenn's Right?"

Throughout the run of his 5 PM television show, he constantly admonished his viewers to "do your OWN homework". I have done much of own homework and research, and have come to some very dark conclusions. In the interest of full disclosure, these are MY conclusions and I offer the same advice that Mr. Beck proffered...do your OWN homework.

I have learned frequently and sometimes painfully that the best predictor of the future is the past. This road that America is currently on has been traveled before...the warnings are evident to those of us who have studied history. The only difference is the technology.

In spite of what's happening around the world, the major source of unrest here in America has revolved around one name...George Soros. In September 2004, Barney Frank, Sherrod Brown and future Presidential Chief-Of-Staff Rahm Emmanuel invited the wealthy financier to Capitol Hill to discuss "important policy issues" and the best way to move forward towards the Soros ideals of an "open and fair society" and "economic...and social equity both here and in the rest of the world".

Two years later, as the 110th Congress was sworn in, with Nancy Pelosi wielding the gavel in the House of Representatives and Harry Reid taking leadership of the Senate. The first Muslim, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) also took his seat. It was during this time that the stepping stones of the 2008 economic collapse were put into place, largely through the vehicles of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the "abandonment of free-market principles to save the free market" called TARP.

The Banks Aren't Entirely To Blame...

Blaming the banks for all of our financial woes is akin to blaming pizza for obesity. Granted, a fabulous meat-lover's pizza with a stuffed-cheese crust isn't something that a marathon runner is likely to chomp on the night before a race, but pizza joints thrive because they have a product that people like, and therefore, want.

Now, the government steps in and dictates what "living wage" a pizza joint owner has to pay his employees, the mandatory healthcare coverage he has to provide, and posting of government-mandated nutritional information. The pizza shop owner has to offset those costs by either raising his prices or lowering the quality of the pies.

Let's say the government decides that EVERYONE should have a house, and directs the banks to loan money to those who MAY NOT have the capability to fulfill the terms of the loan. You know, like no steady job history, past credit difficulties, things like that. The banks have shareholders that they have to answer to, so they create a new group of financial instruments called MORTGAGE-BACKED SECURITIES (let's say, 5 good loans, some precious metals stocks and 2 "questionable" loans) to rid themselves of these potentially "toxic" assets. They sold them short to other investors who were hoping that the overall package would net them a profit in spite of the questionable "paper" or loans within the package.

Then the government cracked down on these financial "instruments", forcing the banks to cover their losses on all the empty properties that they were now stuck with, by raising their prices or lowering the quality of their product.

Notice the underlying theme here? Every time government tries to "help us out", we end up getting screwed with either higher prices or lower quality. The "Occupy" protesters need to focus their anger on the source of the problem...the politicians who are screwing us all in the name of "fairness".

"We've Come A Long Way...But..."

What does conservative Fox News political analyst Angela McGlowan have in common with Reverend "God DAMN the U.S.K.K.K. of A." Jeremiah Wright? Besides skin color, they both believe that it is possible to correct the "mistakes of the past". Her words during a television interview this morning echo the Black Liberation Theology teachings of Dr. James Cone, which dictates that true salvation can only come as a group, by overwhelming the "oppressors".

Dr. Cone states that "Whether the American system is beyond redemption we will have to wait and see. But we can be certain that black patience has run out, and unless white America responds positively to the theory and activity of Black Power, then a bloody, protracted civil war is inevitable."

The true irony? On this day the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial is being dedicated. These teachings are the antithesis of what he preached! He looked to the future in which his kids would be judged "by the content of their character, not the color of their skin".

Demanding Change...

The problem with "Crony Capitalism" is the "cronies", not the "capitalism"...a point that the protesters and their allies in the Mainstream Media continuously choose to ignore.

Former administrations are just as guilty of it as the current occupant of the Oval Office. To inaccurately quote an old country tune, "you dance with the one that brung ya".

Consider Crony #1, President Obama's "Jobs Czar", GE chairman Jeff Immelt. GE offshored billions in profit and paid $0 in corporate taxes in 2010. Consider the technology that GE has provided to Iran for their "peaceful" nuclear power program, or the aircraft engine subdivision that GE has moved to China.

The problem with the "Occupy" folks is NOT that they are demonstrating their right to assemble, but what many of them are demanding; the end of capitalism. They fail to understand that removing any chance of failure can only be accomplished by also eliminating any opportunity to succeed. Is that the change that YOU are HOPING for?

This is a snippet from one (of many, I'm sure) conversation flowing around the internet regarding Andrew Breitbart's trip to the "Occupy LA" cesspool of idiocy. It highlights a common theme of intolerance practiced by those who claim to be the tolerant half of society.

These were the 4 newest (and least profane) entries on The Blaze's website.

Pablo: "screams of HEAVILY EDITED in 5,4,3,2..."

Joe: "...it is conservative spin just like there is liberal spin. i just wish lil andy would come out of the closet..that is my biggest problem with these guys. andy is 100% gay --he creates mountains out of mole hills and the only reason he has any air time at all is fox news--just like beck. anywhere else on the planet--these guys are jokers..closet homosexual jokers..i dare any one of you REAL men to watch lil andy and tell me--he is straight---you cannot ...i had said before and i will say it again---why are conservative straight men so much more gay than liberal gay men?

This thread highlights the futility of intellectual debate with mental midgets. The commentor Joe went astray after his first sentence. Once he got away from talking about the point at hand, which was the Beritbart video, he went straight for unfounded and baseless character assassination. Tossing out all logic and reason, he calls (by all appearances) a happily-married man with children a "closet homosexual". Then he goes on to call *all* conservatives homosexuals!

For some reason, likely extrapolation of self-loathing, commentors Ardiva and Icabod chime in with their individual two cents' worth...they must have invested in the HOPE AND CHANGE mantra, and are left with just change. The threads disintegrated from there into incoherent profanity-laced tirades and personal attacks on each other and subsequent commentors.

Nancy Pelosi and Whoopi Goldberg have both reignited a much-debunked "spitting" incident, adhering to the Marxist mantra of repeating a lie unchallenged often enough that it becomes the truth. The sad reality is that a lie is a lie no matter how many people believe it, whereas the truth is the truth no matter how few actually dig for it. Many of the commentors in the above threads challenged Breitbart's "journalism". Journalism used to mean hunting for the truth using the basic six W questions--WHO, WHAT, WHY, WHEN, WHERE and HOW? These days, journalism has degraded into a paparazzi sideshow that is less about digging for and reporting the truth and more about getting it out there first and how will it boost ratings. At least Breitbart is courageous enough to dig for the truth, regardless of the verbal slams and personal attacks.

Isn't bullying illegal? Whiteville, TN...FIGHT BACK!

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) is the nation's largest association of atheists and agnostics, and has set their sights on the town of Whiteville, Tennessee...more specifically, a cross atop a water tower.

Whiteville Mayor James Bellar needs and deserves all of our support in standing up against yet another fraudulent claim of a First Amendment violation. He has authorized the Alliance Defense Fund to look into the merits of the case, citing sincere doubt as to whether the complainant was a taxpaying resident of Whiteville.

The foundation sent another letter to town officials on Wednesday cautioning them against accepting legal representation from the Alliance Defense Fund: "The best resolution of the dispute over the water tower cross is by removing it without the need for costly and protracted litigation. The town must consider the substantial costs involved in litigating an issue that is settled by the courts. When we won a case again Rhea County Schools in Tennessee for unlawful religious instruction in its schools, the District Court awarded over $120,000 for plaintiffs' attorney fees and costs. This amount does not include substantial defense costs. This amount was separate from the substantial fees paid to Rhea County's defense lawyers."

All these cases are based on the false premise of separation of church and state, WHICH EXISTS NOWHERE IN THE U.S. CONSTITUTION OR ANY OF THE 27 AMENDMENTS TO IT! The clause in question reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..."

This is the primary tactic of the secular Progressives who are destroying our country one cross, one liberty, one small town at a time. It is time for us to stand up to this rabid minority with COMMON SENSE and and UNITY OF PURPOSE. Any judge that doesn't throw out a case like this needs to be run out of town!

(From Wikipedia) In 1980, ZW$ 1.00 was equal to US$ 1.47. The currency's value eroded rapidly over the years, and in 2006 was "redenominated" to a value of (new)ZW$1.00 = (old)ZW$1000.00.

On 27 June 2007, it was announced that central bank governor Gideon Gono had been ordered by President Robert Mugabe to print an additional ZW$1 trillion to cater for civil servants' and soldiers' salaries that were hiked by 600% and 900% respectively.
On 28 July 2007, it was reported that Mugabe has said that Zimbabwe will go on printing money if there is not enough for underfunded municipal projects.

Rampant hyperinflation continued, and the currency was again "redenominated" in 2007 and 2008. Ten zeroes have already been knocked off the denomination. As predicted by the quantity theory of money, this hyperinflation has been caused primarily by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's choice to mushroom the money supply.

In Federal Reserve terms, it's called "Quantitative Easing (QE)"...we have already gone through 2 "known", or publicly-announced rounds of this EXACT SAME POLICY. Too many dollars chasing too few goods makes each dollar--read the next very carefully--worth less. Even more of this Keynesian policy removes the space, and it becomes WORTHLESS.

History repeating itself? The 1919-1933 Weimar Republic is another example of this. It seems that we refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past...unless, of course, it is the plan.

A good man, wise friend and BlogTalkRadio show host Tony Venuti asked this question of his listeners today..."Has America Been Had?" It got to me to thinking about a quote from Benjamin Franklin when leaving the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 after the signing of the United States Constitution. Mrs. Powell asked Mr. Franklin, "What have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?" Ben's immediate answer..."A Republic, if you can keep it."

History is replete with warnings of the dangers of big government, YET WE IGNORE THEM EVERY TIME. Our Founding Fathers spent ELEVEN years forming the Constitution, specifically to prevent us from getting to where we are now. Keep in mind these people didn't even have electricity, yet the aforementioned Mr. Franklin warns us that he who sacrifices liberty for security shall have neither. Step Three - CRISIS: The puppetmasters can't count on asteroids, earthquakes or tsunamis. As we saw in Japan this past March, natural catastrophes on a massive scale tends to unite the citizenry, and that is counter-productive to their agenda. Even the "man-caused disaster" of 9/11 did this to some extent within our borders, but only for a short time. No, now that the citizenry is already a cauldron of hate and distrust, and the puppetmasters only need to find the right match to toss into the mix to ignite it all. Here's the reason that every candidate in the recent Presidential debate said they would not accept a budget deal that included $10 in spending cuts for every $1 tax increase:

Much like President Obama's lamentation of a government system that lets him keep his "unneeded" income, Warren Buffett doesn't mind a tax increase BECAUSE HE CAN AFFORD IT. You see, Mr. Buffett takes all his income as LONG-TERM CAPITAL GAINS, rather than salary. Why? Because the long-term cap gains tax rate is 15% instead of the highest rate of about 35%.

Accounting gimmicks like this is how our Federal Government addresses spending cuts. They will reduce "projected" spending increases in future years and call that a spending cut. Kinda like opting for a new Lexus instead of a new Mercedes...EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED A NEW CAR!

(b) Evil big oil gets a "depletion allowance" for active wells to accommodate the additional expense of pressurizing older wells that have lost natural pressurization.
(c) Ending Medicare is another popular lie, because it's death is SPELLED OUT in detail within the 2,704 pages of ObamaCare.
(d) Slash Social Security - Ummm, yeah, like where *IS* that lockbox we were promised?

Last but not least, notice how he separates the TEA Party from the American people. The Wisconsin Senate recall fiasco is finally drawing to a close, despite the external interference and millions of outside dollars poured into the effort to unseat the Republican majority that was fairly elected in 2010.

Both sides are claiming victory, which is to be expected. Quite understandably, the Democrats and Labor Unions can't outwardly admit that they wasted (conservatively) $31 million and a whole bunch of time and effort (and what little goodwill or sympathy may have remained) trying to overturn what was a fair election to begin with.

The real winners are...EVERYONE! The Wisconsin electoral system worked as it was designed. The results of an election were fairly challenged, and the citizens of Wisconsin stepped up to the plate and did it all again!

The issues are much pettier than all of us...both sides presented their cases to the PEOPLE, and the people made their choice--twice.

"The Mission To Get Bin Laden" is based upon a recent New Yorker article by Nicholas Schmidle, which is remarkably detailed in it's reconstruction, to include both verbal and non-verbal cues. When questioned in an online chat forum about the detail of his piece, he initially indicated that "the SEALs weren't the only ones listening in on the radio communications", and later admitted that he hadn't actually spoken to ANY of them when writing the piece. It is all based upon "other recollections"...i.e., the White House script.

Maureen Dowd states that "The White House had outsourced the job of manning up the president's image to Hollywood when [Mark] Boal got welcomed to the upper echelons of the White House and the Pentagon and showed up recently — to the surprise of some military officers — at a CIA ceremony celebrating the hero SEALs."

GOProud vs Conservatism

I recently read an interesting article (linked HERE) by a young political activist named Toni Woods. She says that she is "...no more or no less a conservative activist because I am a lesbian. I was obviously not too perverted to enthusiastically be used a poster child for their programs prior to my coming out (emphasis mine)."

She continues..."I was empowered by their willingness to engage the dogmatic, homophobic wing of the Republican Party..." And therein is her separation from TRUE conservatism. There is a big difference between a gay Republican and a true conservative.

What Ms. Woods and the rest of the homosexual population fail to understand about true conservatism are the basic conservative beliefs that (a) who you choose to have sex with is nobody's damn business but yours, so keep it in the bedroom where it belongs, and (b) it is an aberrant behavior, not an identity trait. When you announce yourself as a "Gay Conservative", you are automatically putting your choice of sexual behavior ahead of the rest of your beliefs, as well as demanding that everybody else ACCEPT it as normal. There are people out there who get "sexual pleasure" from lighting things on fire and watching them burn, but do you support making arson a "protected" behavior?

I think it was Ronald Reagan who once said that "someone who agrees with you 80% of the time is an ally, not a 20% enemy." Ms. Woods, I applaud your stance on abortion, the sanctity of the 2nd Amendment, the need to rein in government size and scope and individual liberties. I will stand by your side and argue their merits as forcefully as I can. But if you are willing to discard any of THOSE beliefs for a forced acceptance of your sexual behavior, then I must question your definition of "conservatism".

I'm not sure if that $16 Trillion number include the out-in-the-open donations of $700 Billion for TARP, $787 Billion Porkulus Package and $2.2 Trillion from both "Quantitative Easing" phases, but (according to C4L) "from December 1, 2007 to July 21, 2010, the Federal Reserve 'created reserves in the banking system' (Bernanke slang for printing money) that exceeded not only the entire U.S. GDP for a year, but also the entire U.S. national debt that's accumulated over the past 224 years!" Most of this timeframe also contains the term of the "criminal enterprise" of the 111th Congress.

The Greek bailout was likely paid for by the Fed as well, as "more than $3 trillion dollars were lent to overseas financial institutions in numerous countries, including in the U.K., Germany, and France. In addition, we learned just how much the big banks who contributed heavily to Obama, and to the crisis, were rewarded with nearly $8 Trillion to Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Merill Lynch, and Bank of America."

Let me tell you about the depths to which our culture is sinking. I'd like to introduce you to Dan Savage...not sure if there is any relation to conservative radio talk show host and author Michael Savage, but I seriously doubt it...Michael probably would have shot this mutt at a family get-together long ago.

A little background on Dan, with a listener warning...researching this disgusting, perverted little world of Dan's nearly made me puke on more than one occasion, but I will do my best to at least keep it printable.

Dan is an militantly gay sex columnist out of Seattle, and has authored several air quote "best sellers"...not sure how many books are in the genre "PERVERT" but he is apparently one of the best. He is also the founder of the annual amateur porn festival, HUMPSeattle. Dan recently came onto my radar after remarks to Joy Behar in which he wished all Republicans "were f**ing dead". I don't think he really meant Republicans, though...I think he meant ANYONE who doesn't embrace the homosexual agenda. He just used the term Republican because of former Pennsylvania senator and Presidential candidate Rick Santorum's stance on, well, basic decency.

Dan also recently coined a new sex term, santorum--a noun, defined as "the frothy mixture of lube and feces that is often the by-product of anal sex". Folks, THIS is what the homosexual lobby is trying to make mainstream...THIS is what they want to FORCE the rest of us to accept. You can put all the pretty rainbows and happy little terms like GAY on it that you want, it is perverted FILTH...and if you disagree, you are a homophobe. If you speak out against it, that is HATE SPEECH.

In the recent past, I have learned to judge the behavior, not the person...judging people is God's job, and I suck at it. But what I have learned is that behavior is a much more accurate depictor of one's character than one's words or appearance. After all, we all have them mornings when we look like crap no matter what we do, and sometimes words just refuse to come out as they are meant.

Removing all political labels, judgments, inferences, preconceived notions...taking EVERYTHING OFF THE TABLE and just getting down to the most basic of basics--nature--homosexuality is just plain UNNATURAL. When is a gun not a gun?

Say hello to Mister Firing Pin. This little fella is what strikes the primer of a centerfire .357 Magnum cartridge in a Smith & Wesson revolver, causing a rapid expansion of gases to rapidly propel the bullet through the barrel and towards its target.

Without this one particular component, a gun is actually nothing more than a revolver-shaped paperweight. However, according to a recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling, MANDATORY SENTENCING ENHANCEMENTS apply since it meets the "legal" definition of a firearm. (Story HERE)

Chief Justice Robert Castille said that "firing a bullet is the only true ‘designed’ function — in fact, the essence — of a handgun, pistol or firearm." The Chief Justice is correct in this regard. However, he compares apples to oranges in his next statement. "A car without gas does not lose its identity as an entity designed for locomotion. A laptop computer does not cease to be a computer if its battery is removed. By the same reasoning, nor does a handgun lose its designed function merely because a critical piece is missing."

His analogies equate to a firearm with no bullets, not one missing a firing pin. The correct analogies in this case would be a car without an engine and a laptop without a CPU. Here in East Tennessee, Chief, a car without an engine is a LAWN ORNAMENT! And there is no way a laptop without a CPU can do anything but collect dust.

By the same reasoning, Chief, this little firing pin could also be twisted into being defined as a "firearm", since it's only purpose is to strike a cartridge's primer and fire a bullet.

Since the mainstream media had made us jurors by proxy, we felt anger at the inability to make our voices heard. "Winston, come into the dining room, it's time to eat", Julia yelled to her husband. "In a minute, honey, it's a tie score," he answered. Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington. Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its "unseemly violence" and the "bad example it sets for the rest of the world", Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be. Two-hand touch wasn't nearly as exciting.

Yet it wasn't the game that Winston was uninterested in. It was more the thought of eating another Tofu Turkey.

Even though it was the best type of Veggie Meat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce and mince-meat pie), it wasn't anything like real turkey. And ever since the government officially changed the name of "Thanksgiving Day" to "A National Day of Atonement" in 2020 to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster.

Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting. The unearthly gleam of government-mandated fluorescent light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold. Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostats "which were monitored and controlled by the electric company" be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter.

Still, it was good getting together with family. Or at least most of the family. Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of life-saving medical treatment. He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program. Ed couldn't make it either. Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added "inconvenience" was an "absolute necessity" in order to stay "one step ahead of the terrorists". Winston's own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via Anti-Profiling Act of 2017. That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for "unequal scrutiny", even when probable cause was involved. Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine. Almost.

The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six progressives and three conservatives to leave the law intact. "A living Constitution is extremely flexible", said the Court's eldest member, Elena Kagan. "Europe has had laws like this one for years. We should learn from their example", she added.

Winston's thoughts turned to his own children. He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him. Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner. Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford. She whined for a week, but got over it.

His 16-year-old son, Jason, was another matter altogether. Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he got in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism or any of a number of other calamities were "just around the corner", but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility. It didn't help that Jason had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being. Winston paid the $5000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13. The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to "spur economic growth". This time they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful.

Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement. At least he had his memories. He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life "fair for everyone" realized their full potential. Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn't happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them.

He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2010, when all the real nonsense began. Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today if we'd just said "enough is enough" when we had the chance, he thought.

Once again, this despicable group of anti-American thugs is on the march to remove the First Amendment right to freedom of religious expression under the non-existent "separation of church and state" myth. It seems that a lone attendee (probably an ACLU plant) took offense to the 20-foot high cross adorning the pictured auditorium's entrance. For 70 years, the seniors of Neptune High School have marched across the stage in this historic arena as they embarked upon life's journey after receiving their diplomas.

"School officials responded by agreeing to change the graduation program to remove the student-led invocation and two hymns -- one titled Onward Christian Soldiers -- to rid the ceremony of any religious references" reports Cristina Corbin of FOXNews.com.

"The Great Auditorium, a nationally recognized landmark, is steeped in history. The building has hosted Ulysses S. Grant and six other U.S. presidents, as well as 27 of New Jersey’s governors. Mark Twain was a member of the auditorium’s board of directors, and religious leaders like the Rev. Billy Graham have spoken there."

The school board is standing firm even though the ACLU has threatened to proceed with legal action if the venue is not changed. Neptune Public Schools Superintendent David Mooij should be commended for his firm stance against this assault, and any attorney who values America's FOUNDING PRINCIPLES needs to stand with him and the school district on this issue.

(see video HERE) He dismisses outright that the intelligence gained from harsh tactics used on THREE named Al-Qaeda terrorists led directly to OBL's front door. The icing on this psychotic, blathering piece of fruitcake? "It's just a STUNT designed to give props to burnish the reputation of our WORST PRESIDENT EVER, George W. Giving Credit Where It's Due

Boehner's Alcoholic Moment

No balanced budget attachments (that is a separate debate), no rider promises of future spending cuts, no debate PERIOD.

Anyone who has been, or has dealt with, an alcoholic or drug addict knows that there is NO SUCH thing as just 1 more drink or 1 more fix...the only thing that matters is making sure that the LAST ONE stays the LAST ONE.

A Reasonable Opinion

This is somewhat of a continuation of my prior post, PREENING AND POSTURING. While half the punditry cheers "Total Victory!!!" and the other half bemoans "Total Defeat!!", there are some reasonable opinions out there. Having just read the book pictured here after meeting the author at a local book signing, I was eager to hear Huck's take on the whole budget boondoggle.

"Never pour all of your water on too small a fire." There is no doubt that our great country is fiscally in deep ka-ka; it doesn't take an economics professor to recognize this. But taken in context, this preliminary budget battle was more like a playground tiff in comparison to facing the coming difficulties. The debt ceiling is approaching, the 2012 budget is after that, and the incumbent President has the entire Democrat war chest of an anticipated BILLION dollars for the next election. There are much bigger fires coming...best to save some water to battle them as well.

"The only way you can WIN IT ALL is if you CONTROL IT ALL..which the Republicans don't." Our government was founded with some key checks and balances, the biggest of which is WE THE PEOPLE. Our government has strayed from the principles that created it, and the populace at large (obligatory Wizard Of OZ analogy coming) is beginning to "pay attention to that man behind the curtain." The TEA Party is OUR lobbying group in DC...not that I wish to give advice to the opposition, but they continue to marginalize us AT THEIR OWN POLITICAL PERIL.

"Legislating is easy, criticizing is easy, punditry is easy...now GOVERNING, that's TOUGH!" There are several pundits out there whose opinions I value, and Mark Levin is one of them. But I have to disagree with his latest train of punditry accusing Speaker Boehner and the Republican leadership of "caving" on key issues. AT THIS TIME, the actual "number" cut from 2011 spending is somewhat irrelevant, as are the policy riders regarding Planned Parenthood, the EPA, ObamaCare and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. I say "irrelevant" only in the context of former Speaker Pelosi's promise that there would be ZERO cuts...the fact that the debate actually shifted to cutting spending rather than increasing it is enough of a victory AT THIS TIME.

Like a fabulous steak dinner that takes some time to cook...you don't eat it all in one bite. Our government has taken decades to get to this point, and although we need to rein it in quickly, we moreso need to rein it in wisely. Let's give the new House common-sense majority the time and the opportunity to do it!

Preening and Posturing Politicians

Now that both sides of the Congressional aisle can strut and claim victory, it is time to get on with the business of taking the country back. To my liberal friends who say that the Republicans were cheering for a government shutdown, you're damn right. To my conservative friends who say that the Democrats were cheering for a government shutdown, you're damn right. "Huh? Both sides actually agreed on this?" you ask. My answer is YES...let me 'splain something to you...

When both sides are cheering for the same outcome, maybe, just maybe, it's the right thing to do...however "politically stupid" it is. After their mid-term election thumping in 2010, the Democrats pulled a play from the Clinton playbook...they entered this 112th session with no budget and a plan to cause the government "budget crisis", hoping to replay the resurgence of Clinton's popularity after the previous budget-related shutdown in the mid-90s.

There are a number of differences between THAT shutdown and THIS potential one. A) Bill Clinton's Congress was Republican, and led to the balanced budgets that he got all the credit for, despite never having presented a balanced budget. B) The electorate is no longer apathetic and uninformed...Fox News and the conservative talk-radio circuit, providing ACCURATE information to the masses, have given the voters more insight into the inbred system that is the Beltway. C) Their grossest miscalculation was in underestimating the public outrage at the despicable, even obscene spending spree by Obama and the 111th Congress.

The Republicans got the voters' message and stuck by their guns, forcing the Democrats to begin the concession process. Now comes the media blitz...we're all going to hear about how they "saved" the country by preventing the government shutdown...the Lamestream Media will tout Obama's "leadership" in getting the two sides to "agree" on various compromises.

Nary a word will be said about Obama's LACK OF LEADERSHIP in demanding a budget from the outgoing 111th Congress. No mention will be made of the leaders in BOTH parties who neither presented nor demanded a 2011 budget or of the idiotic rhetoric of both sides blaming the other.

The Green Thing...

In the line at the store, the cashier told the older woman that plastic bags weren't good for the environment. The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day...."

That's right, they didn't have the green thing in her day. Back then, they returned their milk bottles, Coke bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, using the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled. But they didn't have the green thing back her day......

In her day, they walked up stairs, because they didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. They walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time they had to go two blocks. But she's right. They didn't have the green thing in her day......

Back then, they washed the baby's diapers because they didn't have the throw-away kind. They dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts. "Wind" and "solar power" really did dry the clothes. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing with some logo on them...

But that old lady is right, they didn't have the green thing back in her day......

Back then, they had one TV, or radio, in the house not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a pizza dish, not a screen the size of the state of Montana . In the kitchen, they blended and stirred by hand because they didn't have electric machines to do everything for you. When they packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, they used wadded up newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.....

Back then, they didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. They used a push mower that ran on human power. They exercised by working so they didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right, they didn't have the green thing back then......

They drank from a fountain when they were thirsty, instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time they had a drink of water. They refilled pens with ink, instead of buying a new pen, and they replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But they didn't have the green thing back then......

Back then, people took the streetcar and kids rode their bikes to school or rode the school bus, instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. They had one or two electrical outlets in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And they didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint......

But that old lady is right. They didn't have the green thing back in her day.......

Solicitor General Neal Katyal, appointed to replace Justice Elena Kagan after her elevation to the US Supreme Court, is "directing" the Supreme Court NOT to fast-track the legal challenges to Obamacare, saying that it does not merit the immediate attention of the SCOTUS. Why is this important? Here is a little context for you...

He works directly for Attorney General Eric Holder, who has refused to prosecute a case of voter intimidation by the New Black Panthers because they are [in his words] "my people." He also worked for Holder in the DOJ from 1997-99. Why is this important?

His claim to fame is the successful defense of Osama bin Laden's chaffeur, Salim Hamdan, before the U.S. Supreme Court in 2006. The legal ramifications of Hamdan v. Rumsfeld are still resonating throughout the legal and policy world, and forced Congress to craft an alternative plan to the military commissions system.

At one point, [Osama's chauffeur] Hamdan asked Katyal why he was spending so much time defending a Yemeni man who was awaiting a hearing before a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay. Katyal's response? “I said that my parents had come from India. They thought America was a place where people were treated equally and their kids would have an amazing life. What’s happening in Guantanamo is fundamentally inconsistent with the tenets of being an American. These are the first military trials to single out foreigners. We are supposed to have equal protection under the law.”

Well, Mr. Katyal, I ain't no high-faluting lawyer type like you, but it seems to me that your client Hamdal had never set foot on American soil and therefore isn't eligible for quote-unquote equal protection under American Law.

CANs vs CAN'Ts

I recently crossed paths with an old high school classmate of mine, daughter of one of the teachers. We both attended the same Department of Defense High School in Vicenza, Italy, but pur individual paths since have been in wildly differing directions. She is now one of the hypereducated elite, a product of the liberal higher education system. Me? A retired veteran of the US Navy, student of history and part-time blogger.

She is an ardent Progressive, and her organization's goal is to "promote human, civil, workers' and reproductive rights, as well as environmental protection and government reform, via 'education' and 'action'". I am not sure what the education portion entails, but according to the uber-liberal Daily Kos, the "action" portion of their agenda can best be summed up as "Tweet, Beat & Repeat". Much like the Wisconsin protests, it entails childish chanting and banging on drums in an attempt to subvert the governing process.

Their current focus is on a "MORAL BUDGET" in South Carolina, which is currently facing a $700 million immediate budget shortfall, and a $14 billion unfunded liability in the retirement system. So, what exactly IS a moral budget, and WHOSE morals are you basing your focus on? Planned Parenthood's? Charlie Sheen's?

The current theme from the Daily Kos: "Teachers have become scapegoats for the current budget crises of many states in America. This [video link removed] was created by teachers in defense of who we are and what we do. Please contact your state government and tell them to stop this assault on teachers and other public workers!"

As usual, they either mistake the symptom for the problem or deflect from it by using generalities in the abstract. No one is blaming the teachers, or the bus drivers, or the cops or firemen for the budget deficits. It is neither a Republican nor a Democrat issue, because I'm sure that politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle have cut deals with the union bosses in order to keep their minions happy. And therein lies the problem...the UNIONS.

The reality of the problem has come home to roost...in order to keep the promises that have been made in the past, cuts in spending need to be made NOW. Taxing the rich doesn't work, because at some point in time this minority that pays the majority of the bills will just pack up and go elsewhere. Kicking granny off Medicare in order to pay today's union bosses is not an option either.

The 2010 mid-term elections came with a message from the taxpaying majority of non-hyphenated Americans--it is time to QUIT PLAYING GAMES and get the job done. As I have said before, those who can, DO...those who CAN'T, organize more of those who CAN'T to disrupt those that were elected to DO. The message from the latter comes from The Freak Brothers..."While you're out there smashing the state, don't forget to keep a smile on your lips and a song in your heart!"

Rev. Al Sharpton wants the FCC to step up its regulation of the airwaves, "rooting out comments that viewers might PERCEIVE AS RACIST" [emphasis is mine]. This came after an interview in which I mentioned that "a spade just isn't cut out for this job".

I was lamenting the fact that my recently-purchased long-handled gardening implement with a flat blade didn't work so well in the hard clay of east Tennessee, but that's not important to Reverend Al. See, he is so focused on shutting down intelligent debate that he focuses on individual WORDS rather than CONTEXT.

In the interest of full disclosure, the afore-mentioned interview never actually occurred, but is a close parallel of the conversations regarding the direction our country is heading that everyday Americans are having.

The main problem with his maniacal idea is that he wants YET ANOTHER PRESIDENTIALLY-APPOINED CZAR to determine what is acceptable to the American people. Since the utter and abysmal failure that was liberal talk radio, a.k.a. AIR AMERICA was unable to do it, now he is seeking the government's help to shut down conservative voices and viewpoints.

A wise American, Daniel Webster said " It it hardly too strong to say that the Consitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

All too often, as our Founding Fathers also warned us, once in power, the "well" and "good" part tends to take a backseat to the "govern" and "master" part.

The TEA party has been a major factor in reminding those we elect where the power really lies, and any elected lawmaker who continues to dismiss us as "astroturf" does so at their own political peril. The 112th Congress plans a "live reading" of the Constitution on the House floor Thursday morning, and if you ask me, it should be beamed into EVERY classroom in America so that our children can know that their well-being is NOT dependent upon any elected official or entitlement program, but is only limited by their desire to achieve and to succeed!

Regarding the Constitution reading, David Limbaugh of Townhall.com summed up the best: "The...liberals' end-justifies-the-means mentality, which, as we are witnessing, is a green light for tyranny and a smothering of liberty and democratic principles in the name of promoting them. The multi-millionaire President of these United States, Barack Hussein Obama, has continuously vilified the Bush-era tax policies...but now believes that they will stimulate the economy and create jobs! In this lame-duck portion of the 111th Congress, the very people that we voted out are desperately trying for one last "SCREW YOU, AMERICA" with some pretty critical issues. We have (mostly) heterosexual and vehemently anti-military legislators voting to force the majority of our military to accept a perverse lifestyle that a minority of them have chosen. We have legislators voting on a nuclear weapons treaty while allowing two of the most unstable regimes on the planet to develop the means necessary to produce them! We have the same legislators who refused to pass a budget at the start of the current fiscal year NOW trying to cram through another deficit-buster to govern the spending of the NEXT Congress.

At the start of each new Congress in January of every odd-numbered year, the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate take this oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

It seems to me that any of our elected lawmakers who refuse to enforce Federal immigration laws and/or wish to create a new and shorter "path to citizenship" for these lawbreakers are guilty of violating their oath of office and should be criminally indicted for the same.

Triangulation For Dummies

There seems to be a new political buzzword floating around...TRIANGULATION. In the pre-GPS era, triangulation was how one determined their location. With a map and bearings to 2 fixed points, one could determine exactly where they were.

There are two problems with triangulation as it applies to elected office. (A) If you don't know where you stand, should you really be in, or considering, public office? And (B) There is only ONE fixed point in politics...that is TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL over the citizenry. The other point is that level of government intrusion that WE THE PEOPLE are willing to accept.

It is refreshing to see WE THE PEOPLE pushing back against growing governance via the Conservative movement, talk radio, the Internet and the TEA PARTY. But is it enough, and is it in time?

As a group, the Progressives seeking total global government control are FAR outnumbered. Their strategy? Reduce the opposition to numerous fringe groups who would be willing to give away a little freedom to accomplish their individual agendas. We see it in the political arena every day. Don't you find it somewhat ironic that the Democrats, the self-proclaimed PARTY OF UNITY, seek to divide us at every turn?

If you disagree with their stance on illegal immigration, then you are a heartless bigot who seeks only to destroy families who are doing the jobs that we won't do. If you value the traditional nuclear family and don't want sexual perversity shoved in your face, then you are a homophobe!!! If you have worked hard all your life and amassed any kind of wealth or estate, then you are one of the EVIL WEALTHY. That is, unless you are the President or an elected Representative...then you play yourself as just a regular citizen who understands our needs and legislates accordingly.

Like a true narcissist, Nancy must remain the center of her own little world. Despite a stinging demotion and near-universal rejection of her quote-unquote version of reality, she is insisting on remaining the head of the now-Democrat minority in the lower House of Congress.

Some of her fellow Democrats are refusing to endorse her run for the minority leadership...these are the ones who are more concerned with getting President Obama re-elected in 2012. Then there are those who are enthusiastically supporting her effort...these are the Democrats who see the writing on the wall...they KNOW that Obama is "one and done" AND they have someone who is willing to jump on yet another grenade.

Prez Barry is in quite a pickle on this one. If he doesn't support her, then he will literally be blaming her for the massive voter rejection of HIS socialist agenda, and will likely lose support of the far-left liberals. If he DOES support her, then he alienates the moderate bloc of the Democrat party who will be critical for any re-election effort that he may hope to mount.

My prediction? He will quietly persuade her to step out of the spotlight and allow Steny Hoyer to assume the reins of minority leadership and attempt to salvage some of the larger voting blocs for his 2012 re-election run.

BULLYING! Here we go with another government intrusion into an area where it doesn't belong, and as usual, at the cost of our civil rights. And again, it is because we, as citizens, have allowed it to happen. As usual, it is the symptom that is garnering the focus and not the problem.
Kids picking on each other is nothing new, and I speak from a position of experience on this topic. As a skinny, buck-toothed, knock-kneed redhead, and a geek to boot, I was "selected" for this "additional attention" quite a bit. As an additional incentive to those who did the picking, I was a military brat so the frequent moves meant I was usually the "new kid".

In my experience with bullying, both in childhood and subsequently into adult life, bullies generally don't kill the targets of their "attention". Therefore, the liberal mantra that "bullying is an epidemic and must be stopped" is misguided and borders on dangerous. The so-called epidemic is in the REACTION to the bullying...kids killing themselves and society blaming it on the bully. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a total crock. The problem is that our politically-correct, multicultural, instant-gratification feelgood society has turned this latest generation into a bunch of namby-pamby, pantywaisted little brats. They are growing into teenagers and young adults who simply do not have the coping skills to deal with life on life's terms.

The America-hating Progressive within him is just dying to break through, but the movement knows that the time is not yet ripe. In the book THE COMING INSURRECTION, the author(s) states that the Progressive power brokers must stay in the shadows, because once the light is shone upon them, their days are numbered. Obama's teleprompter is the caster of the shadows!

Remember the old party game JENGA? You have a tower of blocks, and the object is to pull blocks out of the tower without causing it to topple. Imagine that tower is our society...the Progressives are pulling the blocks out one at a time, while pointing out how the tower is still standing! "See? It's not so bad!" they say. With each block pulled, they brag about how their agenda hasn't caused the collapse of the tower like all the evil Republicans and Conservatives told you while sipping on their Slurpees.

But there will come a time when that tower collapses, and the Progressives won't be there saying "Oooops, ha-ha, they were right after all". History tells us what happens then...ask the Jews.

With the acceptance of $1.8 million from far-left America-hating billionaire George Soros, NPR has officially cast it's net in the rank cesspool of multicultural Progressivism. Call your Congresspersons and Senators, and DEMAND that they remove all public funding of NPR and its affiliates! DEMAND it, in the name and sanctity of the FIRST AMENDMENT.

The Language of the Left

Understanding the Left’s agenda requires understanding what they mean, not necessarily what they say. Actions have always spoken louder than words, and their actions of late speak volumes to those who take the time to honestly observe.

Their positions on issues are based on emotion, not logic or reason. Emotions, however valid or invalid, are fleeting in nature, and the solutions are generally more harmful than good. The primary tools of the Left are constant repetition of lies, mockery and derision of dissenters, deflection from an issue, and finally a re-definition of the terms that comprise the issue. These tactics are necessary because the Left’s positions simply do not stand up to the “smell test” of common sense. Since they are unable to articulate logical defenses of their positions, these four tactics are employed in common discourse.

When a politician screams that a tax cut is not paid for or will add to the deficit, do you realize what it is that they are really saying? They are saying “THAT’S MY MONEY”! They have already spent those tax dollars, even though you haven‘t even earned them yet to have had them taken from you yet! Taking less from YOU doesn’t add to the deficit, but spending it before they take it does.

Another of their favorite games is “CLASS WARFARE”…they talk derisively about tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, even though most of them fall into that category themselves. As of November 2009, 237 of our 535 elected lawmakers had taxable reported incomes of over $1 million…Charlie Rangel’s was obviously higher, but much of it was unreported. President Bush said it best…“if they [Congresspersons] don’t feel that they are paying enough in taxes, just write a check to the IRS”. But quit ramming it down the throats of those who actually EARN it.

While most bloggers, talking heads and media today are focusing on the 9th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, I am going to be a little different and focus on the role that the Twin Towers have played in most of our lives.

Some interesting facts about the iconic Twin Towers: a) The North Tower (with the antenna) was completed in December of 1970 and the South Tower in July of 1971. b) The material excavated from the site was used to build Battery Park. c) Electrical service to EACH tower was 13,800 volts. d) The "Windows on the World" restaurant on the 107th floor of the North Tower grosed $37,000,000 in 2000, making it the highest-grossing restaurant in the world. e) The WTC complex was so huge it had it's own ZIP code, 10048, still receiving about 300 pieces of mail per day.

f) The 44th and 78th floor "sky lobbies" were served by express elevators, and all floors between them by local elevators. This maximized the amount of usable floor space by allowing "stacking" of the elevators within the same shaft. g) The windows were only 18" wide, reflecting the architect's fear of heights. h*) Critics of the Towers called them "the boxes that the Empire State Building and the Sears Tower came in". i) Each tower had 3,800,000 square feet of office space. j) Eight floors of each tower (B6/B5, 7/8, 41/42, 75/76 and 108/109 were used strictly as mechanical space and weren't accessible to the public. k) The South Towers outdoor viewing platform, at 1,335 feet, allowed visitors a sight horizon of 50 miles in any direction on a clear day! l) On a typical day, 25,000 people worked in each tower, with another 200,000 visitors passing through.

Economic Recovery?

Stacks of empty shipping containers tower above apartment buildings all over the country...why? They are perfectly good intermodal steel boxes, designed to transport manufactured goods around the world. They come into our ports loaded with everything imaginable, and shelves at Wal-Mart, Sears, Best Buy, Home Depot and the like are practically bursting with their contents. So why do they sit abandoned outside American ports? Because we have nothing to fill them with for a return voyage across the oceans! It is cheaper for the countries that STILL manufacture products for export to just make another one than to pay the cost for return of an empty.

We don't make anything anymore, except excuses, and those can be carried over the airwaves and internet by broadcasters and bloggers...no need for shipping containers, although the bullshit coming out of Washington DC could easily fill them all.

It's not President Bush's "failed economic policies" that have caused our tanking economy...it is the fault of liberal politicians, both Democrat and Replublican, kowtowing to union interests that have priced American labor out of the manufacturing game.

Steel mills in America, like this one in Steel City USA, that could be making these shipping containers sit abandoned because we don't make steel anymore. The people who used to run these machines either retired with pensions or became greeters at your local Wal-Mart, selling the products than come in from abroad in those shipping containers that were also manufactured abroad.

But leave it to American ingenuity to come up with a solution...how about a containerized, fully functioning plug-and-play data center like the one here? As long as we can keep Congress and the unions out of the Information Technology business, I can foresee an exploding market for this niche in the IT industry! Of course, the computers, server racks, cables and the other equipment within the container is still manufactured overseas, but at least we can use the containers that they built to our benefit.

Another great idea...apartments! Rather than waste billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars constructing and maintaining high-rise apartment buildings that become drug-infested projects, why not resort to a cheaper and more abundant source? Let's build container cities for the poor and homeless, and kill two birds with one stone! The obvious green effect of recycling these containers as well as providing for those who can't provide for themselves should have Liberals practically orgasmic! Instead of taking from the wealthy, let's take from the countries that are kicking our economic butts!

So, America....when Congress starts debating economic reform by padding union pension accounts, take into consideration the motto of the Chief-Of-Staff for the Obama administration...never let a crisis go to waste...especially the ones that we have created!

Has the time come for Black America to now look at the White Race as a whole and say that I trust you with my life and my future along with the rearing of my children and to say thank you for beating my ancestors into submission to accept a new way of life that you have now subjected our people to?"

These are the talking points of the IDEOLOGY OF DIVISION that "faith pimps" like the Reverends Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright use to pump up their bank accounts while doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with regard to the issues that separate Black and White Americans. To them, and groups like the NAACP, the goal is all about "being paid", rather than acknowledging equality. As long as racial tensions exist, they have relevance and continue to "get paid".

These Black Liberation Theologists have put a nonspecific and fluctuating "price tag" required for racial reconciliation that can NEVER be met. Therefore, the majority of Blacks will ALWAYS see themselves as the oppressed and will NEVER be satisfied with ANY current state of affairs as they stand. Therefore, the only status quo that the so-called Black Equality groups are concerned with is maintaining a racial divide to perpetuate their media relevance and income stream.

What has happened centuries, or even decades, in the past cannot be undone. The only solution is within one's self...as in INDIVIDUAL SALVATION. God's forgiveness is absolute, but the desire for it must be absolute as well. It cannot be conditionally based on any external factors, whether past or future. The Lord's Prayer asks each of us, as INDIVIDUALS, "...to forgive MY trespasses, as I forgive those who trespass against ME".

The key to it all is in there...God's forgiveness of you isn't conditional on what ANYBODY ELSE has ever done to your ancestors, and NEITHER SHOULD YOURS! What happened back then is between our ancestors and God. Only in that moment of epiphany that EACH of us, regardless of our skin color, realize that our individual lives and salvation IS IN OUR OWN HANDS, and not based upon any repayment, reparation or whatever you want to call it, can we all progress towards living together in harmony.

She is keeping her head down for a reason, and that is to determine which way the wind is blowing with regards to popular (or more likely, UNpopular) opinion of the current administration. I predict that, after stinging Democrat losses in the House and Senate this November, Hillary will resign as Secretary of State and begin her campaign to replace President Obama. She will take advantage of the fractures within the Democratic party and try to bring the base back towards the center.

Yes, folks, it is going to be Hillary vs. Sarah, battling for the White House in 2012. But it is going to be more than just the Presidency at stake...they will be vying for the future of our Republic, *IF* it lasts that long.

I qualify that prediction, not because I have seen the movie "2012" or read the prophecies of Nostradamus, but because of the QUITE VISIBLE agenda of the Obama administration to do whatever they want, regardless of the will of the people! They will dictate that Arizona can't enforce Federal Immigration Law, yet leave the Sanctuary Cities, who openly flaunt their disdain of those same laws, unprosecuted.

I qualify that prediction because I have read the Progressive Playbook, and I understand that the "tipping point" of anarchy is dangerously close.

Back in the 14th century, Friar William Seach of Ockham put forth a simple theory--"entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity". Put in simplest terms, the explanation with the fewest assumptions is usually the correct one.

I have personally used Occam's Razor in many cases, most notably while debunking the 9/11 Truther theory that the September 11 terrorist attacks were an inside job. What is more likely, after all?

A) Our oversized government, headed by the biggest moron on the planet, with it's notorious inability to keep secrets wired the Twin Towers and WTC #7, the Pentagon, AND a remote field in Pennsylvania with explosives, spirited away 208 passengers from 4 different aircraft at 3 different airports, wired those aircraft to be flown remotely, faked thousands of cell phone calls from those passengers, and then orchestrated everything that happened?

Or B) Our oversized government with it's myriad of alphabet agencies with their turf battles for taxpayer money and splinters of intelligence failed the American people?

How about more recently? Is it possible that:

A) The most unqualified and Liberal President ever elected has INADVERTENTLY surrounded himself with known Communists, Socialists and Marxists, has MISTAKENLY acquired control over most of the American economy, and is UNINTENTIONALLY shredding our Constitution.

Or B) A young, articulate man of color, with a hazy background and history of association with 60s radicals, with a Black Liberation Theology pastor as a mentor, is orchestrating the collapse of the American capitalist-based Republic for the purpose of a "FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION" as HIGHLIGHTED STEP-BY-STEP in the Progressive Playbook pictured above?

It's time to start eliminating the assumptions. Barack Obama has never been shy in admitting his desire for FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION. He has also never shied away from admitting his desire for REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH. Michelle Obama has also stated that "for the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of America". Now why would you want to fundamentally transform something you cherished and held dear? That's like making your son go through a sex-change operation because you wanted a daughter!

Yes, candidate Obama promised us change. Unfortunately, too few of you out there asked "change to WHAT?" I pray that you do your homework, put the puzzle pieces together yourself, and ask if any of it makes sense. If it does make sense, then you probably deserve to be a slave to government. If it doesn't make sense, then let's start taking our country back in November and FIRE CONGRESS!

Progressivism and Black Liberation Theology

As I delve deeper and deeper into the substrata of the numerous issues facing Americans today, my research takes me to some strange places and even stranger ideas. Many of these "issue paths" lead into dead ends, but every now and then I travel down a road that sheds some bright and very disturbing light on things.

My recent research into the century-old American Progressive movement, as well as into today's active players, has brought me onto what I will refer to as A-HA Boulveard! Many things are becoming clearer and clearer now.

BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY is a doctrine that suggests that the GROUP salvation of the oppressed (Blacks) can only come at the expense of, repentance by or conquest of their oppressors (Whites) rather than INDIVIDUAL salvation through faith in God and Jesus Christ. Theologian James Hal Cone, the acknowledged founder of this movement, argues that, "We cannot solve ethical questions of the twentieth century by looking at what Jesus did in the first. Our choices are not the same as his. Being Christian does not mean following 'in his steps.'" Cone also suggests what must occur if there is not reconciliation by the White community. He states, "We can be certain that Black patience has run out, and unless White America responds positively to the theory and activity of Black Power, then a bloody, protracted civil war is inevitable."

The most visible example of a Black Liberation Theology Pastor? Reverend Jeremiah "God DAMN the U.S.A.!" Wright.

Like their Progressive counterparts, this totalitarian groupthink mindset MUST trump all; without exception, there can be no individuality accepted. What about Blacks who disagree with the tenets of the Black Liberation Theology? Ask Project21 member Deneen Borelli, a Black conservative and member of the Tea Party...she says in a recent AOL BlackVoices interview that she's been called an "oreo" and an "Uncle Tom."

Ms. Borelli believes that there would be more black people at Tea Party events like the April 15th tax day protests if they weren't so afraid of the backlash they would receive from family and friends.

The conjunction of these two philosophies comes in the form of President Barack Obama. We all know that the President was a member of Reverend Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) for over 20 years, and that he referred to the Reverend as his "mentor" in matters of faith. We know that he distanced himself from the Reverend and TUCC after videos of some fiery and racially-charged sermons came to the forefront. But can one distance themselves from something that was drilled into the fabric of their being for 20 years?

President Obama has never been shy about his socialist agenda, specifically through FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION of America via REDISTRUBTION OF WEALTH. In office, he has surrounded himself with numerous "czars", many having Marxist, Communist or Socialist backgrounds and beliefs. Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, Valerie Jarrett, Rahm Emmanuel, etc.

President Obama's recent appointment of Healthcare Czar Dr. Donald Berwick HAD to be done during a Congressional recess in order to avoid those pesky confirmation hearings. Why? In Berwick's own words, "...healthcare must, MUST, be redistributionist in nature."

The playbook is out there for all to read, folks...Saul Alinsky's RULES FOR RADICALS, and it is being followed step-by-step. Believe it or not, IT IS NOW ON THE REQUIRED READING LIST IN MANY HIGH SCHOOLS, which in itself is another page out of the RULES FOR RADICALS playbook.

Battling Progressivism

Progressives seek the complete and utter destruction of the American system and way of life in order to create "a non-racist, classless, feminist socialist society". (I'm directly quoting the Socialist Party USA statement of principles.)

You might ponder--Socialism has been tried time and time again and has always failed. Why would anyone believe that it would work here and now? Progressives believe that they have learned the mistakes of the past Socialist societies and can get it right this time. They believe that constant tinkering with a failed idea will somehow fix it, rather than tinkering with a successful idea to make it better. There is a major flaw in their belief which I will highlight shortly.

Even as a distinct minority, they are succeeding! How can 1% or 4% or 7% of the population manage to co-opt the larger percentage of Americans? By piggy-backing on the Liberal agenda, they support the goals of and give credence to every minority fringe group. They hope to maintain and/or gain the votes to keep the balance of power tilted towards ever-increasing the size and scope of Government until it inevitably collapses under the crushing burden of debt. However, Progressives and Liberals differ in one way...Liberals believe in the elimination of failure by punishing success, whereas Progressives believe that elimination of success will, by default, eliminate failure.

The ONE major reason why Socialism will NEVER work is not American, or European or Asian in nature, but HUMAN nature! I call it the JURASSIC PARK theory. In that movie, there is a sequence that shows a goat being lowered into the Tyrannosaurus Rex paddock in order to coax the T-Rex into view. One of the scientists says something along the lines of "no, that won't work...T-Rex is a hunter! He doesn't want to be fed!"

Humans are the same way! The will of mankind to create, to achieve, to overcome, to succeed at something, at ANYTHING is in our DNA! In the 1950s and 60s, it was asked "Why expend the time and money to send a man to the moon?"

The American answer? "Because it's there!" The Socialist? "Because the Americans want to go." But what if there was no America?

The Perversity of Progressivism

I detailed in my previous blog how the Progressives were using a methodology of forcing acceptance of perversion on society called THE OVERTON WINDOW. Progressives are the TRUE danger to society, and have been putting the pieces of America's downfall in place for almost a century now.

A BRIEF HISTORY - Woodrow Wilson started it all with the first progressive income tax (Revenue Act of 1913) and the 17th Amendment to the Constitution, which basically removed the power of the individual States to control their representation in Congress and placed it in the hands of Washington lobbyists and political power-brokers.

FDR furthered the cause of the Progressive Agenda with the federal spending on the NEW DEAL programs during his four(!!!!!) terms as President. Harry S Truman and Conservatives fought back and won a small battle in the bigger-government culture war by ratifying the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution limiting the Presidential reign to 2 elected terms.

The mainstream media, as well as our higher education system, began their radical leftward shift in the 1960s during the Viet Nam conflict and the "don't trust anyone over 30" drug-hazed counterculture.

What do Progressives want? In summary, quoting from the Socialist Party USA Statement Of Principles, they "strive to establish a radical democracy that places people's lives under their own control - a non-racist, classless, feminist socialist society...for democratic revolutions - radical and fundamental changes in the structure and quality of economic, political, and personal relations..."

The Progressives are a distinct minority in this country, yet their agenda is succeeding. How? First, by gaining elected office. They are scattered throughout Congress and the Supreme Court, and now the Presidency. Second, by controlling the mass media and entertainment industries. Third, by controlling the higher education system.

The key to the whole thing is Liberals...they think a lot like Progressives, they just don't want to take it as far...if they do, they lose their power! Progressives know that Liberals can take our society, our way of life, to the brink, but don't have the stomach for the necessary (sorry, Tony!) revolution. The Progressives are just waiting for us to get to the brink, then they will eat the Liberals up and spit out the carcasses as they shove us into a very dark abyss.

Progressives and the Overton Window

The Overton Window was originally postulated by the former Vice-President of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, Joseph Overton (1960-2003). Most commonly used to demonstrate political spectra, it can be geared to accommodate ANY desired methodology. Basically, it is used to depict what any given society deems acceptable at any given time. Over time, the position of the window over that defined spectrum shifts based on popular plurality.

Progressives have long understood that on any given issue, they are a clear minority. However, by supporting multiple minority far-left positions, they have shifted the window of public acceptability, as well as government intervention, into areas that would make our Founding Fathers and our grandparents roll over in their graves.

A majority of the population, both Liberal and Conservative alike, support the legal definition of marriage as the lifelong union of a man and a woman. Progressives, however want to go much further, into the realms of polygamy, bestiality and worse. By merely suggesting this major shift to the left of the Overton Window as it applies to human relationships, as a society we have accepted a lesser leftward shift into forced acceptance of homosexuality.

Discrimination laws used to protect those in a minority class that had no choice in being members of that minority class. Race, gender, ethnicity, physical handicaps and even to a degree, religion, are classes that deserve government protection in society and the workplace. But now we have entered the realm of government intervention into personal choice by establishing perversion by choice as a protected minority class.

Emboldened by this success of the minority over the majority, the Progressive agenda has now managed to score recent additional victories. Government takeovers of the banking, automotive and insurance industries against the wishes of the majority of Americans have succeeded, and now our government is taking over the health care industry. The energy industry is next, especially with the furor that has been created over the Deepwater Horizon oil-rig tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico.

Why The Political Vitriol Exists

The question was posed to me earlier, "Why do Democrats so outwardly despise those who disagree with them?" I don't honestly believe that it is a political leaning from one side of the aisle in Congress or the other, but more from an ideological standpoint than anything else.

As a Conservative, I believe that most who share my mindset tend to see things in black and white, right and wrong, polar opposites so to speak. On an intellectual level, we can justify our beliefs based not only upon experience, but an a + b = c type common sense! Logical arguments tend to frame our debating points, and it frustrates us to no end that liberals just can't seem to grasp any simple concept.

Liberals, on the other hand, approach issues from a deeply emotional perspective, one that is rooted in a standpoint of "how does this issue make me feel about myself?". Liberals see the worst in everyone who doesn't feel the same way about a particular issue that they do, even if its another liberal they disagree with!

Conservatives have the benefit of history on their side, and the Liberals are slowly overcoming that by re-writing history to conform to their own bigger-government agenda. Conservatives have the benefit of logic on their side, and unable to put forth an intelligent counterpoint, Liberals will resort to name-calling or branding. Conservatives believe in setting the bar of personal achievement high, that overcoming failure to achieve success is a necessary builder of character. Liberals believe in lowering the bar to a level that eliminates any failure whatsoever.

Pick any topic du jour...abortion, gun rights, illegal immigration, or homosexuality, and you can bet that argument is framed on the Conservative side with careful thought and concern for the majority, whereas the Liberal side are based on self-centered emotion. Anyone who believes that abortion is wrong is labeled a misogynist, or worse. Believe that every American has a right to own a gun and the liberals cry about bloodshed staining the streets of our cities and towns. If you support illegal immigration enforcement and securing the borders, then you are a racist! If you don't believe that one who practices sodomy for pleasure should go camping with your 10-year-old son in the Boy Scouts, then you are a homophobe.

The primary problem with the emotion-based arguments is that emotions are fleeting and ill-defined, whereas history is there for all to see and learn from. But don't waste a lot of time trying to convince a liberal of that...they will simply rewrite history and redefine the terms of the argument.

Anosognosic: It is a hypothesis that suggests if the individual pictured is too stupid to realize that the hat he is wearing has a visor designed to shade his eyes and all he has to do is turn it around, then he is too stupid to REALIZE that he is too stupid!

This describes liberals perfectly! They are too clueless to realize they are clueless, much less the depth of their cluelessness! They are protected from their incompetence by the incompetence of those they surround themselves with.

The exact opposite of this is METACOGNITION (thanks to Tony Venuti for introducing me to the word). Metacognition deals with the concept of knowing that you know. For example, I know that 2+2 = 4, and I also KNOW that I know that. I also don't know the square root of 271,441 at the moment, but I know that I can get the answer as well as how to get it (521, by the way).

The problem with liberals is PSEUDOCOGNITION, which is knowing that they feel and feeling that they know. This is the root of their arrogance, which they display daily via the C-SPAN Networks!

They feel that they know how to run a business better than a businessman or run a military at war better than a general. They feel that they know YOUR pain, YOUR hardship and and how to run YOUR life. Let me ask Barney Frank or Chris Dodd when the last time was that they had to skip a mortgage payment in order to keep the electricity on. Let me ask Nancy Pelosi when was the last time she had to cut back on groceries in order to put gas in the car.

These people are NOT the real danger facing America...they are merely the tools being used by the Progressives in order to facilitate the radical transformation of America. Unless we Conservatives come out of the woodwork and drop our apathy, it seems that Ronald Reagan's words of caution to us will come true: "When we forget that we are one nation UNDER GOD, then we will truly be one nation GONE UNDER".

Playing The Blame Game

Here it is folks, the cause of childhood obesity!!! Much like blaming pencils for misspellings or guns for killing people, here is the latest attempt to shift the focus away from the root cause of the problem...lack of personal responsibility.

I remember as a kid tossing a box of Lucky Charms into Mom's shopping cart and slipping the Cheerios back onto the shelf. Not only did the Lucky Charms taste better, but there was a toy inside those boxes as well! Crackerjacks was a favorite snack of mine as well, and GUESS WHAT...there is a prize in each box of them as well. Like all kids today and throughout history, I preferred the stuff that tasted good over the stuff that was good for me. It had nothing to do with a damn toy!

I was always an active kid...playing kickball, hide-n-seek, baseball, and even a game made up by the neighborhood kids called "Scalp-Em", a crude combination of Red-Robin and Smear The Queer (oops, we can't use that word anymore, either, but that is a topic for another blog post).

THIS is the cause of childhood obesity...lack of pure physical activity! We put TVs, Playstations and Nintendo DSs into the hands of our children to serve primarily as an electronic babysitter. They sit around for hours trying to unlock the secret code that will get them additional powers and advance to the next level. When stuck, they TXT a BFF on their cell phone, or post an update to their MySpace page to get help.

I don't see a whole bunch fat kids zipping around skateboards or kicking out some eye-opening tricks on their bicycles. No, the fat kids I see around here all have one thing in common...their chubby little faces are generally poorly illuminated by a television or handheld video game screen.

Way to go, New Jersey Governor Christie!!! Unlike Bush #41, when you said "NO NEW TAXES", you meant it! I am across the river in Pennsylvania, but I admire the dedication and fortitude that you are demonstrating to your electorate as well as the liberal lawmakers that pollute your State House and Senate. I hope that your fervor in standing by your campaign promises spreads out to the rest of those running for office across this great land.

For those of you not in the Garden State, Governor Christie recently vetoed a budget bill that would place a 2.5% income tax "surcharge" on individuals making over $1,000,000 annually. The estimated half-billion dollars would have been used to close fiscal shortages on numerous entitlement programs within the state. It doesn't matter what it's called, or how the liberals try to sugarcoat it...it is SOCIALIST REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH.

Governor Christie has already been pilloried and vilified in the NJ media for forcing the cities and townships of NJ to make the tough choices and cut spending. The Democrat lawmakers are already proclaiming him as "protecting the millionaires" by vetoing this bill.

No, he is protecting EVERYONE who earns...once you Democrats learn that tax increases on the wealthy inevitably spread to the rest of us, maybe you will be able to understand this simple concept. History shows that I am likely to be wrong.

I had a customer yesterday who came into the store, practically in tears. Now, as a PC technician, I see this frequently from professionals when hard drives crash or their computer gets a virus. However, this customer was a different sort altogether!

The sweater didn't hide the bright orange shorts with the owl logo that so many fans of a particular restaurant immediately recognize. So she hands me her laptop, and says "it is a piece of crap, fix it". Well, having graduated high school with a GPA in the high 3's, I immediately recognized the difference between fecal matter and a laptop PC, so I gently corrected her..."Ma'am, this is a pretty expensive laptop computer, sort of a Mercedes among Yugos...what exactly is the problem with the computer?"

She composed herself enough to say, "Well, every time I turn it on, there's this voice coming out of the speakers and it is driving me nuts! And it is slowing everything down too! I can't even use this for my schoolwork!"

Immediately recognizing the initial problem as the Microsoft Narrator, I assured her that I could "shut the computer's voice up" in no time at all! I clicked on the EASE OF ACCESS CENTER, selected MAKE THE COMPUTER EASIER TO SEE, and unchecked the little box next to RUN NARRATOR AT STARTUP. I said "OK, that should silence your little problem. Is there..."

"Can you restart it just to make sure? I paid a lot of money for this computer and just haven't been able to use it!"

"Why, most certainly!" I responded, selecting RESTART from the start menu options. The computer restarted quickly and with no annoying narrator giving a play-by-play of each active window.

"Oh, wow, that is AWESOME!" she said. "I've spent hours on the phone with someone who I couldn't understand, and have sent this thing in for service twice and nobody could fix it! You are AMAZING!" She slid me a coupon for a free order of hot wings, grabbed her PC and practically bounced out of the store, exclaiming how she couldn't wait to get back home and start using her expensive computer. I reminded her that we were there for her at anytime in the future, should the need arise.

Amazing? $40 and a plate of wings for 5 minutes of work...I guess you could call it that. :) Oh, and I foresee more visits from this particular customer in the future.

I guess the moral of the story goes something like this: If you try to use a tube of caulk to pound in a nail, you're probably going to think that hammers are pieces of crap and the salesman who sold it to you is a moron.

My Lone Follower Is Now Gone!

I got the news today that a great friend, great person and my lone Blogspot follower Mike Netherland has passed away. Mike and I were friends in our high school days in Vicenza, Italy and touched bases with each other again during one of the fabulous VAHS all-year's reunions. We discovered that we had common passions in both conservative values and writing...although he far eclipsed me in the latter category, he became my lone follower here and provided me with humorous feedback on my relatively rare, but quite eloquent, blog posts.

To Dianne and the rest of the Netherland family: No amount of condolences are sufficient in this case, but you can rest assured that Mike was a great man and will be sorely missed by anyone who ever knew him...especially this old high school buddy. Best wishes to all in this difficult time.

Of course, it is Bush's fault that we didn't get the 2016 Olympics, just ask Senator Roland Burris and THE Reverend Al Sharpton. It had nothing to do with the video clip of the HONOR STUDENT getting beat to death on the streets of the same city.

Look, Mr. President...you didn't earn my vote and you still haven't earned my support, but that doesn't make me a racist. You're trying to ram a turd sandwich down the throats of the American people with your ideas of ECONOMIC JUSTICE and REDISTRIBUTIVE CHANGE, and we really don't want that turd sandwich...that doesn't make us racists. Those of us who KNOW what made America great don't like to see you out there apologizing to the rest of the world for it. No, we are not a perfect nation, but we are in all probability the least IMPERFECT.

We don't feel that America NEEDS to be radically transformed, merely given a minor course correction to starboard (that's to the right, for you landlubbers). I'll jump right out and say that the ones who blindly supported your progressive agenda and voted for you BECAUSE of your skin color rather than despite it, the ones who are first to play the race card are the TRUE racists. It's easy to shut down any intelligent discussion or debate with THAT on the table.

Mr. President, the first thing you need to be doing is accepting that this country, it's economy and other problems are now YOURS. You need to tell your minions to quit calling all the negatives INHERITED and all dissenters racists. The recent brawls at both a Pacers-Pistons NBA game and a Clemson-USC NCAA football game, both captured in all their hideousness by numerous cameras from every angle, highlight in my mind the primary symptom of what ails our society. We neither accept nor bear any responsibility for our irresponsibility. Whether it occurs via words or deeds, there is always someone or something else to blame for our mistakes.
Society itself is the usual scapegoat, and for good reason. Since the beginning of time, societies have continuously flailed with defining what is and what is not acceptable within that society. Those societies that recognize the will of the people, governance by the rule of law, and faith in God have survived the longest.
Whether one believes in God or not, it cannot be intellectually argued that the Ten Commandments don’t just make good sense. Even for the atheists and agnostics amongst us, 5 through 10 are pretty darn good advice.

To remove these guides to a good life from society merely because they come from the Bible is simply ludicrous. And ludicrous describes the state of our society in very large part. The same principles that this great nation was founded upon are being removed one at a time by activist judges legislating from the bench, overriding the will of the people! By groups like the ACLU, by individuals like Reverend Jesse Jackson and politicians like Ted Kennedy, Sam Jankowicz and John Kerry.

Societal Downfall Step One - There is an old quote that says “give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” The Lewis Corollary to that asks “why should the man learn to fish if you’ll give him one?” I am referring of course, to the Welfare program. After all, if you’re going to give a single mom more money for each baby that she can’t afford, why not have more babies? The government will end up caring for them anyway, and on the taxpayer’s back. If you’re going to give someone an apartment and pay for it, where is the desire for ownership? If you’re giving a healthy man a check every month for not working, then where’s the incentive to work? We have created a subclass of people who simply do not possess the skills to survive on their own, and have no incentive to gain them. And it gets worse with each generation.

Societal Downfall Step Two – The Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision basically sanctioned murder. There is no softer, easier or gentler way to define abortion. The common euphemism “right to choose” is flawed in this respect: Once a female has conceived, it is no longer just her body. She is host to a living, growing human being. I feel like running ads in all television and print media that says “If you can read this, you were once a fetus!” Somehow, though, I don’t think that those who sanction the practice of abortion would get it. The Supreme Court in that decision did nothing but cheapen the value of life and promote the spread of promiscuity and disease.

Societal Downfall Step Three – Gay Marriage. Since we have already cheapened the value of life, why not trash the traditional definition of marriage? The next logical step is to consider the legalization of quote-unquote civil unions between family members, multiple partners and animals?
It is wrong for two basic reasons: (1) Biologically, it is impossible for two males or two females to conceive, and therefore propagate the species, and (2) if sodomy is a crime, and the only way for same-sex couples to have sex is to sodomize one another, then where is the judicial outcry at the crimes that, logically, must be being committed amongst these “loving” couples day in and day out?
In the animal kingdom, life is based on a set of instinctual rules that favors the survival of the fittest. Only a being with the capability to reason, however illogically, could even remotely consider homosexuality to be “natural”. Homosexuality is a bad choice, not a genetic predisposition.

Societal Downfall Step Four – The Next Generation. We have become a nation obsessed with our own success, and as such have forgotten that which made us successful. We demand, and in most cases work diligently for, a higher lifestyle. At what risk? We have turned over the duty and responsibility of raising and teaching our children to total strangers. In the rarer and rarer two-parent households, both parents are usually working in order to maintain a big mortgage, several cars and all extraneous frills like cellular phones, cable television, health-club memberships, etc.
Younger kids go to daycare centers, and older kids are left to their own devices after school. They play video games, watch whatever cable channel they want, surf the Internet or hang out with whomever else is in the same situation. Our kids are being raised by the Nintendo babysitter and learning their societal skills from whomever will show an interest in them. They are growing up UNSUPERVISED.
In the typical single-parent home, it is much worse…it is so much easier to toss the kid a five-spot and tell them to grab a bite at Mickey D’s because you have to work late than it is to pre-cook a dinner and have it ready for them when they get home. Peer pressure tells our kids what is right and what is wrong, because the parents simply aren’t there to do it.

Societal Downfall Step Five – Political Correctness. Rather than keep standards high and promote hard work for success, society “lowers the bar” so that no one fails. Kids can’t play dodgeball anymore or have spelling bees. More qualified college applicants are rejected for lesser candidates because “diversity” and “inclusion” dictates that there should be so many students of “this” gender or “that” ethnic background. Intellectual curiosity in the few must be stifled to accommodate the lack of it in the many, while religious and societal beliefs of the many must be stifled or eliminated to accommodate the few.
The great lesson that is lost here is that initial failure and subsequent success, NOT success alone, is the true builder of character in humans.

Democrats are vilifying the oil industry...the same BIG OIL that the Democratic party has choked, throttled and subdued for 30 years because of the liberal special-interest groups like Greenpeace that fund them. We haven't become energy-independent because tree-huggers DON'T WANT any new refineries, new oil wells, or more nuclear plants. Senator Kennedy has blocked efforts to place an electricity-generating windmill farm in an ideal spot that just happens to be in his backyard.

Why have so many manufacturing jobs left the USA? Ask the Democrats. They will tell you it is because of NAFTA and other free-trade agreements with 2nd- and 3rd-world countries. The real reason is economics, just like oil. Unions, who largely fund the Democratic party, have priced the American worker out of the manufacturing market. Hillary's Universal Healthcare plan will do the same to our medical infratructure. Opening new markets to American free enterprise ideals is not the reason our manufacturing jobs have left...the Democrats' strong support for raising the cost of American labor is.

Last but not least is the misguided view of the war in Iraq by both Democratic contenders. They are both pledging troop withdrawals from Iraq immediately upon their presumed election, based on....what, exactly? Code Pink's views that all war is immoral? Or just getting Osama Bin Laden? As much as I would like to see that towel-headed bastard tied to the nose of a 767 crashing into a mosque, he is not the primary problem...his IDEOLOGY is. And if we can help the Iraqis prove to the world how misguided that ideology is, that victory alone will overshadow him and reduce his influence. The bottom line is that the Democrats want us to lose in Iraq so they can go "nanny nanny boo boo, stick your head in doo doo" to George W. Bush.

I am not too keen on any of our Presidential aspirants...solving our broken political system is not to come from a Beltway insider merely changing addresses within the Beltway. All the Democrats are harping about is change...but not all change is good. Making the RIGHT changes is something that the LEFT hasn't proven too adept at accomplishing.

Rush Limbaugh Stole My Stuff!!!!

I came to this conclusion after watching the Rushbaugh address the Conservative Political Action Committee. Ok, I must admit, us conservatives think a lot alike, so I can't really claim plaigiarism, or intellectual theft, or anything like that. At this stage of my life, I guess I am just glad that someone agrees with me, AND, has a national audience (unlike this blog).

My civic duty as an AMERICAN now done, I have cast my vote for my hope for the future of America. It sounds so cliché, doesn’t it? I mean, the “this being the most important election we have ever faced” line…we hear it every election cycle, whether it be for representatives, senators or our President. It has never been truer than it is today.

Several months ago, when the Democratic nomination was still a toss-up between senators Obama and Clinton, and the Republican nominee was Senator McCain, I wrote a scathing blog regarding the choices. I said that there is no way that our obviously broken political system would ever be fixed by someone who is merely changing addresses within the Beltway.

However, once the nominees of each party were finalized, I reviewed the national political records of the candidates on my own. One candidate has a quite lengthy record and the other’s is quite short. One has quite questionable associations with avowed domestic terrorists, an America-hating pastor as an admitted mentor and a dubious “community organizing” organization…the other candidate’s only connection to terrorists came as a 5½ year prisoner in their custody.

Would you rather elect a candidate who has voted AGAINST their own party leadership on one out of ten votes, or one who has refused to take a stance either way by voting “present” 136 times? Would you vote for a candidate who thinks that life itself is “above my paygrade”, or one who firmly believes that life is God’s ultimate gift to us all? Would you vote for a candidate who has promised to kill American jobs by bankrupting electricity-producing coal plants or a candidate who believes that ALL of our domestic energy sources should be exploited for OUR benefit? Would you vote for a candidate who is in favor of removing secret ballot provisions in union negotiations, or a candidate who believes that voting privacy is paramount in ANY vote? Would you vote for a candidate who believes in punishing the successful for the benefit of those who aren’t, or a candidate who believes in spreading the opportunity for success?

America, the choice is ours. Let’s make the right one for the benefit of us all.

I recall another historic first with an untested candidate, along with the usual media hype based on appearance and biased opinions, not facts. Everybody flocked to see, and ecstatically cheered, waved and clapped in the glorious presence of...RMS TITANIC.

Much like President-elect Obama, RMS TITANIC was new and untested, quite opulent, and seemed to offer everything to those who trusted her with their livelihood. She offered HOPE to those hundreds of 3rd-class passengers who wanted a better life in America. Yes, she was the fastest, the best, and to boot...UNSINKABLE. So the captain and crew threw caution to the wind in order to break records and prove her worthiness. And so, it was only after an earlier NIGHT TO REMEMBER that the true facts of her flaws came to light.

Unlike TITANIC though, President-elect Obama's past associations, Senatorial record and even the words out of his own mouth were all there for you to see. Like the Mainstream Media and the co-hosts of THE VIEW, you fawned over THE ONE and chose to either ignore or gloss over the dubious parts of his record.

Let me say up front that I would love to slap the crap out of every liberal I hear utter this statement...I seem to recall the DOW JONES Industrial Average (Ticker Symbol ^DJI) hitting it's highest point ever before the Democrats took over the Congressional majority in 2006. Since then, it has been a freefall as facts come to light about Democratic Congresspersons receiving "benefits" from the "fully soluble" Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (ask Barney Frank and Chris Dodd).

Government CAUSED this problem, sir, by insisting on a HOME for EVERYONE, including those too irresponsible to afford one. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd assured Americans that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were financially soluble, but meanwhile the shares of my retirement fund, invested heavily in both of the above, went from $12.25 in September 2008 to a current NAV of $6.32.

Yes, I lost half of everything I have saved for the past decade to you pontificating bastards in Washington DC who are more concerned with your own pay raises, your own livelihood and your own permanent healthcare than the well-being of your constituents. And the situation is going from bad to worse!

Do you read Zogby or Rasmussen? Americans don't think this is a good idea, they see it for what it is...a transfer of wealth from the private sector to the government in the name of CONTROL. What Exactly Is "Historic"?

OK, Mainstream Media (and my normally reliable FOX News Channel), I've got a little hint for you. The coverage of America's 44th President has gone over the top, and I am quickly approaching the stage where reruns of HOUSE, BURN NOTICE, even SANFORD AND SON are more appealing.
Yes, this election cycle has been a wild one for sure. I will even allow that yes, Barack Obama's election as President was quite historic. BUT THE HISTORY ENDS THERE!

Every other elected President has been inaugurated, so the only historic feature of President Obama's inauguration was the $150 million price tag...boy I remember how you guys complained and pilloried President Bush for his $43 million gala.
Signing of a first executive order is NOT history...every other President has done it. Of course, not every first executive order has had the dubious distinction of releasing non-uniformed combatants captured on a battlefield killing Americans back into their own countries.
So when are we going to hear about his Historic first crap in the White House? Or see the exclusive coverage of the Historic first leftovers? I scream, "ENOUGH ALREADY!"

President Obama is a man, and puts his pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. And just like the rest of us, he is going to make good choices and he is going to make bad choices. Just don't let the fawning gleam in your eyes overstate the good choices and mask the bad ones.
